As the story goes, more than a hundred years ago the founder of our winery, Don Melchor Concha y Toro, hid a prized collection of wines in his personal cellar protected behind a wrought iron gate.
However, over time he began to notice that bottles would strangely disappear. It seemed his secret cellar was no longer so secret, and that the townspeople, having heard of his exquisite wines, couldn’t resist tasting them for themselves.
CASILLERO DEL DIABLO Chardonnay
Region: Limari, Casablanca & Rapel Valley, Chile
Style: White
Grape: Chardonnay
Aroma: Displays fresh and fruity notes of pineapple, citrus, peaches and soft vanilla notes.
Taste: Has a fresh and fruity character from the beginning. Pineapple and peach together with small touches of hazelnut are given by the French oak barrels. Has a Fine structure with an excellent balance and a fresh and lively acidity. Medium bodied with a long and dry end palate. At the end you find green pear and delicate hints of white peach complemented with a toast impression.
Serve With: Great with Thai food, or mildly spiced Indian meat, seafood and tandoori paneer dishes.
CASILLERO DEL DIABLO Merlot
Region: Central Valley, Chile
Style: Red
Grape: Merlot
Aroma: Cherry and liquorice aromas are complemented by toffee and vanilla giving way to chocolate and red berry flavours.
Taste: Offers subtle aromas of chocolate, dark plums, red berries and spices with hints of vanilla and smoke. Medium-bodied with lovely tannins, velvety texture, rich and a long pretty finish.
Serve With: A wonderful accompaniment to roast chicken, this is yet a versatile red, and as good with mildly spiced Thai food as it is with a pizza.
CASILLERO DEL DIABLO Devil's Collection
Region: Rapel Valley, Chile
Style: Red
Grape: Shiraz, Carmenere, Cabernet Sauvignon
Aroma: Has ripe pronounced notes of black cherries, blackcurrants, plums, and a subtle touch of vanilla from the oak barrels.
Taste: Offers an enveloping and well-balanced palate. The delicate notes of black plums are complemented by silky tannins.
Serve With: North Indian meat dishes, barbecue and steak.
